Anthony Komara enters his third season as the Falcons' Head Coach ahead of the 2024-25 season. Komara earned his first win at Montevallo in a thrilling come-from-behind victory against Tampa to start the 2022-23 year. In year one, Komara coached several players to individual success as Tyler Moore was named the 2022-23 Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year and Braxton Bertolette was named to the All-GSC Second Team and a NABCA All-Star. With Komara's new fast-paced offense, the Falcons improved its points-per-game total from 73 in 2021-22 to 78 last season.
In year two, the Falcons rose from 10th in the Gulf South Conference Standings to ninth with three additional conference wins and two additional wins overall. Komara's high powered offense from 2022-23 remained in affect for 2023-24 as the team set single-season records in three-pointers attempted and three-pointers made in Montevallo's Division II Record book.
Komara was named head coach of the Montevallo men's basketball team in June of 2022 after serving as associate head coach at Alabama Huntsville. Before being elevated to the position of associate head coach in March 2021, Komara served eight years as an assistant coach.
During his time in Huntsville, the Chargers reached the NCAA tournament seven times, including hosting a pair of South Regionals in which the team reached the regional final. In addition to another regional final appearance away from Spragins Hall, UAH won three Gulf South Conference tournament titles, and captured three GSC regular season crowns.
With Komara on the staff, UAH produced an All-American, seven All-South Region performers and 14 All-GSC selections, with two being selected to play in the Division II All-Star Game.
Komara began his coaching career as a student-assistant video coordinator at Auburn in the 2009-10 season. He graduated from Auburn with a bachelor's in marketing in April of 2013 and earned his MBA from North Alabama in 2015.
